 For your convenience, our hospital stocks commonly used medications. We carry a number of medications in both tablet and liquid form.
Do your tablets need to be halfed or quartered? Don't worry. We will take care of that for you at no additional charge.
With each new medication dispensed, you will receive a medication information sheet that describes (1) every known, potential side effect with that particular medication (even if the side effect is rare), (2) a brief summary of the medication, (3) how the medication should be stored at home, and (4) future monitoring recommendations. There will also be a website address that you can search for additional information on the medication and the disease if desired. We even tell you the key words to search for so you are spending most of your time reading instead of searching. We want our clients to be knowledgeable about how the mediation works, why it was dispensed, and what you should monitor at home. Even though most of the side effects are very rare, we still would like you to be aware. We have done most of the work for you and we are always happy to discuss the information if you have any questions or concerns.
We understand that it may be difficult to administer medications to your cat. After all, cats are cats. We are happy to discuss a few options with you that hopefully will help make administering medications to your cat a little bit easier. On our Links Page, we have educational videos that demonstrate how to administer liquid medications and administer tablet or capsules to your cat. We also carry chicken and salmon flavored Pill Pockets, a soft, hollow treat that allows you to hide the medication inside the treat. Hopefully, your cat will enjoy the treat and not realize the medication is inside.
Need to refill a prescription? It is easy. Just call us or e-mail us at catsonlyvh@yahoo.com. Typically, your medication refill will be ready the same day. However, we ask you allow 24 hours from the time of your refill prescription request for our hosptial to fill the prescription.
