 We are pleased to announce the arrival of our luxurious cat condos. These spacious condos offer mulitple levels to stretch out or take a nap. Our condos have their own ventilation system so that air from your cat's condo is blown outside. This helps ensure a healthy, clean boarding facility. Multiple cats can either share a spaceous condo or cat condos can be connected for deluxe accomodations. We feed our boarding patients Wellness chicken or salmon diets. Feel free to bring your cat's own diet, especially if they are on a prescription diet or have strict diet requirements.
We have a few requirements that must be met prior to boarding to ensure our boarding facility and hospital remains disease free. The following outlines our requirements to board with us. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
- Comprehensive physical examination at our hospital by one of our doctors
- Rabies vaccination is up-to-date (requires documentation)
- FVRCP vaccination is up-to-date (requires documentation)
- FeLV/FIV test (requires documentation)
- Negative fecal analysis within 6 months
- Free of external and internal parasites
For new clients and new patients, the above should be pursued ideally 2 weeks prior to the boarding appointment. Please call for more information.
What can I expect when my cat(s) board at COVH?
Our boarding facility is run by our compassionate, professional, well-trained staff. You are encouraged to bring your cat’s current diet, their favorite food and/or water dishes, favorite toys and/or bedding, etc. We strive to create an environment as close to home as possible to reduce stress while they are away from their family. Each of our boarding patients is monitored for the following:
- Eating / drinking
- Attitude and activity
- Urination / defecation patterns
- All patients are weighed every 2-3 days to monitor for any significant weight changes
- Any abnormalities (i.e. hairballs, sneezing) are noted and recorded
If there is an issue with any of our boarding patients, a doctor is available to evaluate the patient. You will be called if we have any concerns or recommendations.
If your cat requires medications or treatments, our technicians and assistants will be able to administer your cat’s specific treatments and monitor your cat’s progress while they are staying with us.
What can I expect when I pick up my cat(s)?
When you pick up your cat, you will receive a short, written summary of your cat’s stay with us. Included in this summary will be any weight changes or any issues that we may have noticed. We will also include any recommendations we have for your cat(s). If medications were administered, the dose and time the medication was last administered will be written on your discharge instructions for your information. All boarding summaries are approved and signed by one of our doctors.
